17 April – The Spark by Ron Fernee

On 17th April, ScriptTank will be returning after our Easter break with The Spark by Ron Fernee. This is the second reading of the latest draft of the play, which was previously read at Script Tank during the Wheat Sheaf Sessions.

The Spark is a drama about a dysfunctional family. It’s a story about love, lust, friendship and football, set at the goal end of a football pitch.

Summer Term

We will be meeting every two weeks until the 24 July for this term of ScriptTank. Currently, our scheduled readings are:

  • 1 May – May Day Shorts (details below)
  • 15 May – Sponges by Urszula Kucharczyk
  • 29 May – A play by Melville Lovat
  • 10 July – Untitled work by Kate Lock

6 March – Shorts Night and goodbye Esther

The next ScriptTank on Monday at The Wheatsheaf will be one of our regular Shorts Nights.

This time work by Melville Lovat, Carrie Cohen, Kate Lock and Ben Francis, will be read by some of our ensemble of actors.

It’s also with sadness that Eley’s final ScriptTank meeting as one of ScriptTank’s organisers. After many years, Esther will be continuing to host some ScriptTank events. In the meantime, Richard Cosgrove and Katharine Way will continue to arrange ScriptTank events.

The evening starts at 6:45 for a 7pm start at the readings are held upstairs at The Wheatsheaf pub, at 25 Rathbone Place, London, W1T 1DG.

There is a £3 fee for all members attending the reading.

20 February – The Spark by Ron Fernee

February’s reading at ScriptTank’s new home at The Wheatsheaf is a new stage play by Ron Fernee.

The Spark is a full length play, by Ron Fernee. It’s set in the penalty box of a local football pitch. While Tim practises for a trial at the Chelsea Football Academy, his life seems to crumble around him. Can his own spark save him? Not just for footie fans.

The evening starts at 6:45 for a 7pm start at the readings are held upstairs at The Wheatsheaf pub, at 25 Rathbone Place, London, W1T 1DG.

There is a £3 fee for all members attending the reading.
