Unfortunately, ScriptTank’s spring-summer term will not be starting this week, as we originally planned.
Due to circumstances beyond our control, our new venue won’t be available.
We are hoping to start readings again later in May, with a traditional Shorts Night.
Once we are able to schedule readings, we will announce the dates.
We are sorry about the delay, but our new home will be worth the wait.
A couple of years ago, we implemented a rule requiring members to attend at least two readings in a term to qualify for a reading in the following term.
We realise that many of you have been unable to attend meetings regularly – if at all – since we lost our home at The Blue Posts.
Because of that, this attendance rule is being waived.
Any full member of ScriptTank can ask for their work to be read this term.
If you haven’t had a piece read in a while, now’s a good time to bring something in.
New members of ScriptTank still have to attend three readings before they can have a night. However, you are welcome to have works read during any Short Nights held before then.
ScriptTank will be returning later this month.
While we are continuing to meet at The Wheatsheaf pub (25 Rathbone Place, London, W1T 1DG), we’ve had to change our meetings to sporadic Mondays.
Also, we’ll only be meeting once a month until Easter. The confirmed dates for ScriptTank’s Winter-Spring meetings are:
- 23 January
- 20 Feb
- 6 March
- 3 April
We are searching out for a second venue, which will allow us to return to a fortnightly schedule. Please subscribe to the blog, or join our Facebook group for further details.
We will continue to meet at 6:45 for a 7pm start. There is a £3 fee for all members attending the reading.
If you are interested in joining ScriptTank, please contact us. Please remember you will need to attend at least two readings during this season to have your script read in our summer 2017 season.
If you are a current member and would like would a slot, please email Esther.
On Wednesday afternoon, Radio 4 will be putting on The Bone Orchard by one of ScriptTank’s veteran member, the award-winning Kate Lock.
In The Bone Orchard, Sue returns home to Liverpool for her parents’ wedding anniversary and is forced to face a secret from her father’s past and the truth about their relationship.
The Bone Orchard will be on Radio 4 2.15pm on Wednesday, 7 December. And it’ll be available on the BBC iPlayer for a week afterwards.
Also, Katharine Way’s latest episode of Doctors – The Invisible Woman – was broadcast on Tuesday, 6 December. It will be on the iPlayer for another month.
