20 January – Blocked by Mark Lindow

A MODERN THERMOPYLAE: 300 hunger strikers

A Modern Thermopylae by Giannis Angelakis

For the first ScriptTank reading of 2016, ScriptTank will be featuring Blocked a new drama feature film by a new member, Mark Lindow. Mark is an experienced playwright, who’s previous short film, See Saw, has received many awards from international film festivals.

Blocked tells the story of Fillan and Jack: best mates, who are good at partying, but not communicating. When Fillan’s dad dies suddenly, ruining his plans for university and trapping him in Cornwall, Jack is right by his side to take his mind of it. But Jack is on the road to addiction. As Fillan tries to manage his friend, his devastated mum and their failing family business, Zenna, a girl he met in the summer, invites him to London. But he’s held back by Jack. So Fillan must choose, between staying loyal to his best friend or blocking him out his life to save himself.

The evening starts at 6:45 for a 7pm start at the Blue Posts pub, Rupert Street. The nearest tubes are Leicester Square and Piccadilly Circus.

If you are interested in joining ScriptTank, please contact us. If you are a current member, please remember you will need to attend at least two readings during this winter-spring season to have their script read in our autumn/winter 2016 season.

We’re looking forward to seeing friends old and new next week.
