27 May – Attention Deficit by Alain Kramer, See by Katharine Way

This week ScriptTank will be hearing two pieces: Attention Deficit – a script for a short film by Alain Kramer – and the radio play See by Katharine Way.

In Attention Deficit an 11 year-old boy runs away from home and his emotionally detached parents, and meets two outcasts who take him on road trip journey across London in search of the alternative medication he needs to suppress his mystery illness.

In See, Steve has always taken care of his younger brother Danny. So he’s far from thrilled when Danny gets together with Cassie – a bright, lively woman who claims to have a rare eye condition and to be going blind. Steve has his doubts – and shares them with Danny. As things escalate and Steve’s grip on reality starts to loosen, we realise that Cassie may not be the only one who can’t see what’s in front of her.  And Steve may not be the protector, as he likes to think – maybe he’s the one people need to be protected from.
