Next Wednesday’s reading will be Field of Vision – a first draft of feature film by Katharine Way.

Connor’s going blind, but he’s used to that – he has retinitis pigmentosa and has been gradually losing his sight since the age of six. His girlfirend Abi has lost her sight completely. Despite knuckle-dragging neighbours from hell who attack them simply because they’re different, they have a good life together. Then Connor sees a specialist and realises that there is a treatment available.  His sight can be, if not cured, greatly improved. But Abi becomes obsessed with the idea that if he can see again, if he can see her, he’ll leave her – she won’t be good enough for him. And one of Connor’s friends thinks exactly that, and is trying to break the two of them up.

Will their relationship survive or will outside forces and their own insecurities tear them apart?

The reading starts at 6:45 for 7:00, above the Blue Posts pub, Rupert Street, nearest tubes Piccadilly Circus or Leicester Square.

There’s a £3 charge per session.

This will be the final reading of this current run of ScriptTank. We will be back in September/October. To be notified of when ScriptTank will return, subscribe to this blog.
