24 April – nanJO

Grandmother and baby

Next week’s ScriptTank reading is of nanJO, a stage play by Robin Marchal.

Nan hates estranged daughter, Molly. Molly hates her Mam. The poison spreads to the next generation. Madison despises her Mam, Molly, feels indifferent to her Nan and increasingly alienates herself from family. And boyfriend Tyler faces it all in a laid-back style.

Does it matter? Do they need each other? Is nuclear family relationship important in society? Are these questions that are primarily left for reflection in older age – where there is time to think, perhaps recognize the need for memory of past, a life fully lived, the importance of having a satisfying history?

The reading starts at 6:45 for 7:00, above the Blue Posts pub, Rupert Street, nearest tubes Piccadilly Circus or Leicester Square.

There’s a £3 charge per session.
